I have read lots of different books to my son and most of them I have no idea what they are about when I pick them up. Most books are GREAT! Some are boring, others pointless, or maybe a bit strange. But when I got to the final page of this book I was SHOCKED!
It begins: "It was the first day of the month and Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck were SIX months behind in their rent. Pete, the owner, came to collect the money. He told Mickey and Donald that they had one hour to come up with the cash. If they didn't, they would be kicked out - dispossessed. And Pete would sell the house and all their furniture!"
They have no money so they call goofy and start moving out.
Goofy moves the piano out the window. "Bye,bye piano."
"BY SOME MIRACLE, the gang managed to get most of their furniture into the truck just as Pete returned. He stormed into the house and lit a cigar. BOOM! He was standing too close to a gas pipe and the whole house exploded! The boys escaped - JUST IN THE NICK OF TIME AND LAUGHING ALL THE WAY!
Moral of the story: If you can't meet your financial obligations, keep living in the place for SIX months, then STEAL all the furniture and 'MIRACULOUSLY' escape. Oh, and just for good measure, BLOW UP THE HOUSE AND ITS OWNER. And LAUGH because you got away with it!!
This book was printed in 1986 by Walt Disney.
Seriously?!? WHO wrote this? HOW was it approved it? WHERE was it printed? WHY would some one want our children to read this? My mind is just reeling that this book is in existence.

What's a cigar, mommy?
I find so many weird books when I am in a hurry at the Library. It's surprising they all get published!
I guess that book needs to be destroyed! I'm sure Jackson could take care of that (with permission!)
Seriously...this is amazing! I have definitely found some weird books at the library, but never anything this ridiculous. Also...I hear you on the bedtime battle. Ruby is a major insomniac....its been a struggle, but I will tell you...it does get better! Now that she is in school she gets more tired and has a better time. Still not easy for her to go to sleep, but much easier on us parents then it was when she was Jackson's age. When are you coming?
