Before I start my rant, I will say that I am so happy to be falling in love with this new little person. Hallie is a great newborn (although quickly outgrowing all 'newborn' sizes). I love her and love being a mom of a baby again.
As I was going through this week alot of memories of the first week with Jackson came back and I just wondered if I am the only one with this experience:
Flooding,
moisture,
wetness,
liquid,
runny,
fluid,
dampness,
flowing . . .
I feel like there is something coming from every orifice on my body and my baby's body. And even some fluid from uncommon orifices.
We have garbages and garbages full of pads, diapers, wipes, nursing pads, tissues, etc. Then there are the loads of laundry for the non-disposables: spit rags, changing pad, bras, outfits, onesies, robes, blankets, etc, etc.
I feel like we were flooded! I think this time was especially noticeable because I got a cold and had a very runny nose for 2 days. I felt like I couldn't cover everything up quick enough! Sorry if this is TMI!
The good news is that all this wetness means my baby is very healthy and is a great eater. Also, I am thankful I can provide her with the nourishment she needs. (There needs to be some positive side to all this liquid!)
First bath with big brother helping out!
Just Chill-alxing!
Her name is pronounced HAL - LEE not Hay-lee for those who may not ever talk to me, but DO read my blog :)
This is her going home outfit. She absolutely hated being dressed and put in the car seat! Don't you love those boots???

You are so right on! It is funny to think of it that way but so true, lots of wetness going on.
Love seeing the pictures, keep em coming:)
Yes, those are perfect words. I had to sleep on like 3 towels. I felt like I was leaking everywhere.
I just wish the hospital would send you home with more of those mammoth pads. Those were priceless.
PS- those blue medical pads (http://www.medixusa.com/images/UnderPads.JPG)that they have in the hospital and have you sleep on were the jackpot. We had a nurse that sent us home with some. They so came in handy not only for me, but also for my baby during diaper changes. Reduced laundry doing a tad.
I've thought next time I'm totally buying like 100 of those "underpads" in preparation.
She is so precious! Congrats!
I LOVE her chunky cheeks and her going home outfit is darling. I remember what a surprise it was with my first dealing with all the milk and moisture. I didn't expect it...and I still don't love it, but you're right, it is worth it.
PS the word that I have to type in order to post this is "rantiza". I found it humorous. :)
Oh, oh, oh, she is so absolutely precious! Looking at these pictures makes me want to nuzzle her little neck and sniff the top of her head. I know I've said it before, but what a beautiful baby. And her cute going-home outfit brought back some sweet memories for me. Thanks for sharing pictures! Please keep them coming! :)
Congrats on a cute little girl! I love the name!! :) We've got a good deal of mispronounciations, but now we're in a ward where the bishop's wife has the same name, and noone has remembered it wrong, haha. This phase of being covered in bodily fluids doesn't end quickly really- until their done potty training- it just seems to never end for those first years. ;)lol.
Anyway, I saw your comment and wanted to say Hi! We also have a mutual friend- I grew up in the same ward as Anna Fowler- how funny!
Stay well!! luv, Courtney
